Record company politics aside this is a cracking proto-roots tune from The Pioneers clearly based on the successful Monkey Man template - substituting more conscious lyrics - but none the worse for that association in my opinion. Perhaps more importantly the flip side is a classic rocksteady instrumental - making this an excellent vfm double-sider - especially if you can pick one up in good nick at the right price.

This record more than explains the serious issues I have with mid 1960's - 1970's reggae this incestious pap and theft crap

This is a total theft of the Maytals Leslie Kong gem Monkey Man so hardly original or very impressive just the note that B&C music collected the few royalties that this rubbish made. Again another incestious B&C/Trojan/Island Palmer Bros hide the fees and paperwork on paperwork, under paperwork from the tax man.

Really does fly in the face of good Reggae and legit people in front and behind the records!

It's a vile and very poor boring waste of vinyl pucks and Orlake's time! £30! no-way I wouldn't give you 3p! or in pre 1971 3d Its utter rubbish. and an insult to their superior work with "The China Man"

Seems very odd to me that plagiarism seemed acceptable and ok in Jamaica!
This one is bad but nothing as insulting and illegal as Tiger Guilty on Palmer Brothers Camel label John Barry's Born Free did the Palmer Brothers cough-up? Pay the royalties over! Yeah rite!
