Amazing album from the early Shamen some brilliant diverse electronica, minus MR C the prancing prize twat who later joined the band and wrecked it putting cheesy raps on every tune. The original 1990 release with the original unmixed Human NRG is the best with black cover and silver writing, not the remixed later 91 pop version. They should release the original 1990 black cover LP on 180G

Brilliant album and way ahead of the curve. Classic great sleeve artwork too

You show the paperwork which may have come with the test pressings however the actual promo test pressings are 2 x white label with stamped red titles but the actual title is given as 'SHAMEN LP INTACT DISC A 45 RPM' & 'SHAMEN LP INTACT DISC B 45 RPM. The discs come in plain die-cut paper sleeves with the track listings typed on a small sticker on the sleeve. NOTE INCORRECT TITLE.

The real shame here is that there are at least 3 different version of this release and neither of the two originals are truly seminal/definitive.
Avoid any of the commercial rereleases and the later 2008 vinyl rme, actually the 1991 CD, "naughty naughty very Naughty".
>
as noted by Restless (10/4/2014) the album stands against the great albums of 1990, partly through the combined efforts of its cast list; some established names and some who were to become household names (or nearly).
get the original 2*LP, the first CD or if you are brave track down a cassette for a proper 90's rave revival! sorted

Yes indeed, great seminal album which contributed to convert a lot of indie people (including your servitor) to the joys of ecstatic dancefloor marathon, together with LFO, KLF, 808State, Orbital, The Orb, Primal Scream, FSOL, the "Keeping The Faith" comp and many others. Although its content has allegedly aged today, it still benefits the inherent nostalgia factor ("Hyperreal", "Omega Amigo", "Possible Worlds", "Oxygen Restriction"...).
And then there is the absolute gem, that wasn't a standout tune at the time and was never released as a full-side 12inch, i'm talking about "Hear Me O My People (Orbital - Delays Expected)", an early trancey stomper with subtly echoing dubby 4/4 beats over dramatic pads, and a spoken voice speech sampled from a south-african anti-apartheid preacher ; which combines the Shamen's indierave vibe with an early Orbital at their trippy peak and imo reaches perfection in an underground crossover position due to its relatively low BPM status, making it suitable in indie, balearic, cosmic but also deep house and early trance approaches.
A tune that sends you straight in the particular timeline of a very smiling and utopist 1990, and still absolutely droppable to this day as an ideal set opener or closer.

Lots of great observations by others on this Lp, and rightly so because The Shamen have such a long and varied history. Entact is my favorite album by them, I know their early albums and not the bubblegum-raver pop that came later, as in latter years they seem to have gravitated to a much more pop/commercial /stadium rave/ neo club dance music scene and the passionate/innovative style of their early works diminished. Entact is a effortlessly cohesive blend of electro, techno, industrial, and synthpop, very exciting at the time (1990), but still amazing even now. Even their fashion outfits are super cool in their 'Move any mountain' video, check it out.

The embossed sleeve contains two twelve inches of tracks different to the CD album release... Not having heard these until 2011, it amazes how fresh, original and inspired this release is. The teams of producers and engineers that had/did the likes of Primal Scream and their own club hits flexed their magic muscles on this release, from track to track masterpieces that stand the tests of critical time. Melbourne, Australia loves The Shamen and responded often charting early and often, though many more could have benefitted, it seems, with the vinyl version.

When you mention 'The Shamen', most people will immediately think of the awful chart rubbish they put out, like LSI, ebineezer goode, etc....
This LP, and particularly this early version (later versions had different tracks like move any mountain etc), is possibly their finest collection of tunes.
I cannot fault a single track on this release. The variation of the tracks is great, lots of different influences, and the whole thing plays more like the LP's of yesteryear where the album is one continous musical storyline (unlike modern albums which seem to be just a collection of random tracks thrown together).
For the money of a VG+ copy, it is an absolute bargain. Dont expect it to be anything like their chart tunes, this is a much better sound, quite unique and extremely relaxing, interesting, and enjoyable.
