The sorta record that sends shivers down the spin and brings a welcome relief from the clichéd four-to-the-floor repetition sweeping clubland. This straight-up remake of Prince’s crowning glory, doesn’t actually sample Roger Nelson’s original - it’s a covers bands’ best efforts that form the backbone to this terrifically optimistic number. When fully issued by Southern Fried this is bound to better the surprisingly low #58 chart position of the original.

This is probably one of maybe five covers of a Prince song that is truly more beautiful than the original. The vocals are almost identical to Prince's, Wendy's and Lisa's original vocals and the arrangement is faithful to the original yet current and -- amazingly -- more striking than Prince's version (which is no easy task!)

The title track is a breaks remix of a Prince classic. This track is probably why you would buy the record. Not I. The flip side is the real winner here. Always & Forever is filtered disco house at its finest. Featured on a MIXMAG compilation album last year as well.
