This 1993 release is a reissue of the 1981 4AD label/Cherry Red Music published original vinyl album which had a different and much better 'psychedelic' designed sleeve. The original 4AD release is now a 'collectors item' obviously. It is a full of beautiful songs, crude layered but captivating compositions and ethereal 'soundscapes' but lack the sound and production quality of best album from 'The The' to date: 'Soul Mining', due to the fact that it was recorded on an 8 track, as Matt Johnson once told in paper interview. That's the reason why, back then, he left 4AD for Some Bizzare.
