This is Jack White/Meg White blues rock with a not so hidden anymore NOLA reference to the mighty Earl King. And so much more sliding. The Third Man pressing is impressive The various White Stripes musicalical ephemera is nicely collected on wax and is both subtle and extremely noisy. There is no peppermint stripe vinyl here. The original recording would have been nice to include? This record is running on a Thorens TD 316 Mk. II with a shitty needle so be it.

Third Man Pressing does it again. Dead quiet. Wonderful. Anything they have pressed has been top notch.

"24 hrs before The Corner closed" refers to the last game at Tiger Stadium - home of the Detroit Tigers - played the next day 27 Sept 1999. Jack grew up about a mile away from 'The Corner'. I know exactly where I was that day - but unfortunately it wasn't at this show.

Plenty of bang for buck in this collection. Previously unreleased alternate takes, outtakes, 3 live performances, a book of intimate photos and notes.

If you didn't like this vault selection, you don't like the White Stripes.

I got my copy yesterday and it sounds perfect! Both discs have no flaws. It was nice and flat, and the mastering is superior.

Does anybody else's cut out for a second during The Big Three Killed My Baby (D5)? Sounds like it's the recording.

While it's a nice set, it seems to be lacking for the price. Maybe including an exclusive pressing of original version of the album would have been good. $60 is a bit much for 2 LP's and a DVD.

I cancelled for now...haven't been too impressed with the past few selections.
