If you put a quarter in The Woodshed's DEVIL'S JUKEBOX, does the devil come out? Not quite, but some acid dub does. The bips and bops and, later, saxophone and growing darkness of "Broken Face" add a fun bounce, though "Big Cheese Malarkey" sounds somewhat sparse in comparison. "Dead Man's Flipper" goes from spare acid jazz to thumping techno in short order, while "Panncracker Tuesday" has a huge, wobbly bass for its dub. Plenty of acid also appears on "Pond Life" and "Louse," but this mini-album doesn't quite have the strength of some of The Woodshed's other work.
