Don't know exactly why I bought this CD when it was released. I wasn't familiar with the band and thought they were still playing goth or doom metal, like in their early years. It was a big surprise since the very first seconds of listening, when my ears were caught by powerful and catchy waves of electronics, guitars and great melodies. There's a strong pop element in these songs, yet they maintain an amount of aggressiveness and speed pushing them out of the plain synthpop category. Try it if you're into the electro-rock crossover, for "Assembly" is still one of the best examples out there. This was also the band's last album with original vocalist Liv Kristine, who went into a successful solo career.
