Part 1 A. The first track up is a wobbly synth and bassline number sounding like an accompaniment to the T.O.M. project Renaissance release..maybe thats why the Matrix numbers (SS034CD) are linked to the Omar-S SS034 release.
Part 1 B1. is nice downtempo, dreamy number with the vocal " there is hope in tomorrow..." possibly with Alena Waters on vocals who sang on the Soul Control track on Sound Sculptures Vol.1
Part 1 B2. A short groovy little jazz sounding peice ... funky bassline, muted trumpet(?) riffs and salvador de bahia style keyboard falls.
Part 2 C1 kicks off into life with another big bassline , crisp snares, shuffling high hats and some nice piano licks played off against that angry synth sound.
Part 2 C2 keeps the big basslines rollin , it has a more futuristic menacing sound, heavy kick drums and an evolving bassline, going back to that fine T.O.M. project sound.
Part 2 side D has a clunky drum loop and messy effects laden guitar pieces. It could be Blackbone Waltz's angry cousin.
Part 3 side E gets a little spacey.. drawn out synth chords.electric piano and funky keyboard licks combine with the mellow rumba of the high hats and light drum pads.It could be a companion track to Nitedrive from sound sculptures Vol 1.
Part 3 side F finishes the package with more big raw and deep synth lines and a click clack, electric, vaguely latin rhythm.
All up a great release with a few nice easy warm up tracks and enough dancefloor numbers to get the feet shuffling and the jaws dropping. The tracks fit into Theo's current sound..hypnotic, sonic blue jazz flavours and raw other worldly beats.
