Great compilation and introduction to an excellent label
but what kind of hubris must a man have to put his big moody face and his name TWICE on the cover of a compilation of someone else's music?? :) LOL How about a picture of, like, Gene Russell or something?
"Theo Parrish presents Theo Parrish's Black Jazz, selected by Theo Parrish, executive produced by Theo Parrish", we get it, dude! Innovative cover design, guys! :P

Love this album. It wasn't easy to track down the vinyl double pack at an affordable price, but I'm glad I kept hunting. Some intelligent straight ahead bop-style jazz and some other avant-garde leaning stuff. Quality.

I agree. I much prefer the CD version. This one's quite ugly.

What's up with the vinyl version of this? It's been announced since end of summer and still no sight of it.
