Not sure about the others pressings, but the Australian EMI pressing indicates it uses the "Maxicut" mastering process to produce incredibly high dynamic range particularly in the bass frequencies, without causing the needle to jump out of the groove. The Australia EMI pressing definitely has some good low end punch to it.

A crossroad where intellect meets mechanical pop aesthetics! Far reaching into nether techno pop most musicians in the 1980's wish they could have tread. Dolby is refined, articulate and mind bendingly creative hooks, English wit, sophisticated rhythmic passage (I swear he must have been listening to Afro pop when recording this one!) and all that this is a brilliant recording. I love all that 80s tech the 808s and Fairlights its still better than 90% of garbage that passes for music thus far into the 21st century circa 2018. Touch Mr. D. you've won this listener over with this classic yet to be re-discovered by the proles!

'Dissidents' has a quote from Laozi in Russian taken from Tarkovsky's 'Stalker':

- A man is born gentle and weak; at his death he is hard and stiff. All things, including the grass and trees, are soft and pliable in life; dry and brittle in death.

I have a copy of the Dutch Vinyl LP 1A0642400341A with the usual inlay sleeve & lyrics however it has a different picture sleeve. The front cover is headed 'ad-vice en de risico's van het vak ' then a large picture of 4 persons climbing mountains and the The Flat Earth Thomas Dolby, the back cover is of 7 men in ski outfits and covered in snow. Does anyone have any information on this.

Thanks.
