This sounds like early TG but somehow lacks the umph of many of their better known works. It has the chilling weirdness of "After Cease To Exist" but somehow fails to play chills down the spine quite the same way. It drifts in a drug-hazed stasis, hanging around like smoke drifting in a busy, late night sleaze bar. In many ways this is pre-New Age mood music, rarely using CARTER's viral electronica and almost never waking SLEAZY up to add his twisted recordings or weird FX. What you're left with is a relatively bland piece of guitar & bass wankery - and stripped of the other components it doesn't work quite as well.
If you've never heard TG, then avoid this album at all costs - invest instead in "D.O.A." or "2nd Annual Report". And if you're a fan of their sound you won't actually be disappointed as such, but I shouldn't think you'll play it as much as their other releases. Become a follower and you'll find this irresistable - otherwise avoid.
