Leading the tension to the threshold of explosion. Prolonging it while the teeth are grinding. In the end, detonate it! Tomahawk capabilities to handle adrenaline accumulation and consequent schizoid burst reaches in Mit Gas even higher levels than in debut album, thanks to the thrilling fluidity of composition. Tomahawk members are masters in tension modulation and control of its release: especially in those songs (Capt Midnight, Mayday) having frantic rhythmic perfectly mixed with electronic tinges and Mike Patton uncontainable energy enveloped by disturbing Denison melodic sensibility. Dissonant arpeggios are more evident than crooked riffs of the debut, and this emphasizes the contrast between obscure atmospheres and supple, unpredictable, energetic shock of one of the best rock albums of the new millennium.
