I strongly disagree with the negative comments on this record...
To me is the most engaging album they released since "Standards" and i actually find "The Catastrophist" to be better than that one, there's not a boring track, the two songs with guest vocals are great and the sound is always warm throughout.
I have to say that after years of disappointment (and a terrible looking cover that kept me from buying it when first released last year) i finally gave it a chance and now it's been spinning on my turntable for weeks!

GONE ARE THE days when this band was relevant (arguably their first three LPs). From the lame cover art (reminds of SIA (another lame band)) to the boring visuals/emotions (if any) this muzac tries but fails to muster up. Neither post-rock nor experimental - TORTOISE should just call it a day so McCombs & McEntire can get back to making good music again....

So good!!! Don't forget to transfer to a plastic inner sleeve to save your vinyl and the original paper one
