Tristan's first album is his best - twisted and techy dark psytrance, sometimes with housey beats. The tracks also build quite subtly towards long climaxes, or rather plateaus. Tristan always seems intent on breaking genre boundaries, an experimentalism I applaud, but it doesn't always come together to create something musically coherent. Nevertheless, this is an interesting album with good sound that was applauded in its day and may even have had some influence. After this it was downhill for Tristan's albums and 12"s. ~*~
