Grooverider's remix was also recorded at KMS Studios in Detroit. Saunderson flew him out there after he kept going to Rage in London every time he was in the UK.

Quite a departure for Kevin Saunderson on this 12" - its more in keeping with the Belgium Techno / UK sound of this time rather than what you would expect. This 12" is packed full of old school synth stabs, beats and samples from other tracks.
Big back in its day.

Sounds to me like Detroits take/cash in on the Belguim/UK rave sound & as far as I am concerned if this was a white label coming out of the UK with no details on it it would have been just another record and done very little, by 92 standards this is pretty average (even though I know half was done in 91)
Not hating on Kevin but this average, I'm not saying shit just saying average.

I don't who ripped from who, but "Mental Techno" sounds very the same as Shades Of Rhythm ‎– Armageddon. And if I may believe the dates it's Saunderson that ripped it from Shades Of Rhythm...

Up Tempo is really Kevin Saundersons masterpiece. It's a early 90s Techno-Breakbeat track with the worst bass ever heard. Sometimes his tracks sounds a little simple and uncomplete to european ears but this one is real madness. Try the Original Mix of Up Tempo and you don't need the whole new stuff trying to copy the originals.
