"The Orb" get thanked in the runout, probably because "Newlands" sounds a lot like "A Huge Evergrowing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld".

Beautiful track, one day i hope to stumble across it for a couple of euros in some hidden Spanish market.

This record is my own personal unicorn. After searching UK record shops high and low, it's nowhere to be found. Absolutely killer stuff from Mark Goddard, who I know used to roll with the Funky Junky crew back in the early 1990s. See if you can spot the (Sax) Todd Terry sample in 'The Start'.

sh*****t! saw a few mint copies of this a few years ago but thought nothing of it! because of the label design I just assumed it was early 90's hardcore fodder, how wrong I was :-(

"The Start" is one of those random classic "secret weapons" as you say. I heard LG drop this regularly at the Rex back in the day. But actually for me "Emotional" is my favorite here. Dude gets his girlfriend or whoever to do these totally homemade vocals over these burning, metallic, powerful synths and the thing just destroys. Mark Goddard, where are you now?!

Mark Goddard...? would be nice to know if this man did ever release other materials at all. This very mysterious "Detroit" sounding EP seems to be one of Laurent Garnier's favourite oldskool secret weapon. In 2006, He played the track "The Start" during one of his "It Is What It Is" radio shows, mentionning the name & the fact that he had no idea who did the music, but insuring he had the record for more than 10 years. No need to say it's dope!
