Suzuki Tsuyoshi was one of the most influential people in the "goa" days of psy-trance. His Matsuri Productions was one of the most productive and daring labels the have graced the psy-scene and it closed down not from a lack of interest on the fans part, but from a loss of interest in the genre by its founder. Besides being the man behind the label, Tsuyoshi was also plenty busy producing some of the classic tracks of the genre and this cd is a great over view of Tsuyoshi's wide ranging work before he completely abandoned the psychedelic fields and returned to Japan where he currently works in the more tribally house and techno areas.

The tracks here have been released in one format or another already, but there are some excellent tunes here and this cd can make for an excellent introduction for the person who is unfarmilar with Tsuyoshi and Matsuri Productions. Not surprising four of the nine tracks here are from Prana, probably Tsuyoshi's most successful project. Tracks like Geomantik and Boundless show off Tsuyoshi's pure tribal goa goodness in full effect. The Joujouka shows off his work with Ubar Tmar in probably the most influential psy-breaks project to ever have happened. The closing track by Legal Mission is one of my favorites, showing off Tsuyoshi's willingness to groove and not just smash you over the head like some many of todays artists.

End result - Some may argue that Tsuyoshi might have had other tracks then the ones represented here, but the fact remains that after getting this cd, it didn't get removed from this listeners cd changer for close to half a year and still gets played regularly.
