This early Leaf/Lo release really does earmark a time when record labels would be daring and experimental. Putting together a collection which 'in no way has a defined audience'. Its a masterwork in track by track vinyl programming.

From the lofi triphop of A1, you really have no idea what lurks beyond the grooves until you arrive in A2 where distorted DnB and tones tell you 'its not safe here' and very quickly arrive in A3, a hissing broken beat composition that has you checking your needle is still attached to the cartridge head. A3 is a dense industrial assault that seems to loop endlessly until its screaming death. A4 is the eye of the storm, a calm bass tone moment with almost short wave interference trying to break through (and its a locked groove).Beyond the lock, possibly the most melodic piece on side one drips single notes to the runout.

B1 loops a tune that is on the edge of recognition with a scampering lofi breakbeat keeping it company in background of distorted bass (imagine a rave breakdown being heard from the room next door). B2 is another broken beat track, almost downtempo in comparison to the other material so far, it seems to end before it completely arrives or resolves itself. A3 establishes a basic phasing groove, its beats trying to trip over one another until it suddenly ends. B4 arrives with a child like melody over the drone of a large unseen machine.

...and then its gone.
