Original is a typical roundly produced early nineties Kerri Chandler number, but Ty Brunson's voice is a little too 'garage-dramatic' for my taste. Then you have the 'Mount Rushmore's Old Jersey Vibe' providing a total blast with highly compressed kicks, Chanelle's voice cut-up to maximal trippy feverish effect and a monstruous funky subbass licked by a jazz loop which makes this amazing piece comparable to great US sweaty peaktime house dubs in the vein of Todd Edwards or Hardive's "Deep Inside" (same voice loop vibe, only more obsessional and hysterical here) ; to deep late nite trippy jazz house a la Moodymann ; but also announcing the forthcoming UK garage and 2-step scenes that would appear a few years later. Three house music families perfectly and fluidly summarized and tied up together in one single tune, what a bargain!
A monumental DJ tool then, and another one that i recently discovered through a podcast, in this case Space Dimension Controller's wonderful one for RA. Podcasts are definitely the new eldorado for the dance music digger imo.
