In my opinion 2 remixes that are totally unnecessary & really never should have been released, redundant in just about every way Chabb & tektonik have taken a true classic & stripped it of all the mysticism & awe inspiring production quality that made the original & especially the Caspar Pound remix so special & delivered a run of the mill prog house remix.

I really hate the old "this is the best trance track ever made" syndrome, there was so many great tracks in the 90's i think you would be hard pressed to pick one definitive track but if a gun were place to my head and I was forced to choose a favourite then I guess I would choose this remix by Caspar Pound. From those first few piano notes to it's awe inspiring climax Caspars remix of two full moons stands as one of the greatest trance tracks ever produced & benchmark for trance along with a few other tracks from the great Platipus label. the minimal beginning with drums and piano provides such a stark contrast once the track evolves into a deep rolling tech trancer & the final break and build up jaw dropping. If ever you want to put someone back in his place who say's all trance is crap then throw this motherfucker on your decks to silence them forever.
Even played today it is hard to think of this as an old school track, it sounds as fresh and new and vital now as it did when it was released, 5/5 doesn't really cut it!!!!!

The original was a decent, slightly Acidic trance track calling for meditation, yet it seemed to never really achieve what it was aiming for.
On this remix, Caspar Pound strips the track bare, initially, creating a very solemn atmosphere: a lone, reverb-laden and echoing piano, then some drums. Come 3:40, the first break changes that with the introduction of chanting and the build-up of elements from the original version. By 5:32, it has become the devastating tech-trancer that set so many dancefloors on fire. At 8:26, when one would think the track has reached its natural conclusion, the end is nowhere near. The final build-up, lethal, this one, unveils the last panel of the triptych, an overwhelming assault on the listener's senses, as maximalist as the start was minimalist. Be sure to hold on to your seat!

As for the FLF remix... Is this not a single-sided release?

Keep finding things that classics like this sample, today I have found that the chanting comes from track #1 from this - http://www.discogs.com/Marcel-Cellier-Pr%C3%A9sente-Le-Myst%C3%A8re-Des-Voix-Bulgares-Le-Myst%C3%A8re-Des-Voix-Bulgares-Volume-1/master/38360

Which ever mix you listen to, there is no denying that not only is this one of the all time trance classics, but possibly more than any other track it will silence even the most hardened trance cynic.

The original is a lush journey deep into a rainforest with the sound of tribal drums and tropical animals setting the scene. This is interspersed with ethereal wailing and profound soundscapes. This builds for several minutes as it takes the listener deeper into the jungle until it all comes crashing to a halt and the most epic new age film score type break before soothing itself out. Imagine yourself several days into a jungle on a quest to find a long lost civilisation, knowing you are close and frantically quickening your pace. However at the moment your goal finally unveils itself to you, you realise that the jungle tribe was lying in wait for you all along and you will form the main sacrifice to appease the angry gods!

Amazingly by taking it down an even more epic route, the Casper Pound manages to actually improve on the original. Here the emphasis is on ponderous singular piano keys and a more striped down production that makes greater use of the wailing vocals to chilling effect. This final minute or so is really what elevates this mix to legendary status. You'll need to hold onto something that is securely bolted down or risk being blown away by a whirlwind. Then suddenly the track just stops dead. The best comparison for the Casper Pound remix in terms of effect is Jam & Spoons 'Follow Me'.

So many years on, none of the mixes here have dated at all, and probably will never do so. The very best music is always timeless.
