This is a record I have been searching for many years. At school, aged 10, a schoolmate who's father ran a local garage, selling Mobil petrol , which I think had some connection with promotion, brought many copies of this into the classroom. It coincided with the first time I was able to buy and play the new-fangled 45 singles, previously hampered by the extinction of current 'Pop ' music on 78rpm discs, the only records I could play at home .The family radiogram was modified with a new 3-speed record deck and anything that played at these new ' low ' speeds was eagerly sort. This ' You Find A Star ' record was one of the first to be played and I nearly wore it out , it was played so much !.It dissapeared soon after and over 50 years later, I still have a vivid memory of it, the 5 singers ' Heading for Stardom ', the advertisements, the 'posh ' voices are still in the corners of my mind.I regularly search eBay for it but to no avail.A chance trawl on Google recently revealed this listing with the familiar write up and at least I have it's exact title which had eluded me, to help search for a much wanted copy.( Roger ).
