Supraphon Release Information

In the 1980s, the loose trilogy Příběhy, písně a balady (Stories, Songs and Ballads) was the most extensive Czechoslovak rock project, with its vinyl records selling like hot cakes. Now, more than two decades later, it is released on CD for the very first time. The first part is the work of the composer and arranger Ota Petřina and the lyricist Ladislav Kantor, the second of Jan Neckář and Zdeněk Rytíř (with Eduard Krečmar and Michael Prostějovský providing one text each, too), while the third is a selection of new recordings of the best older ballads, including Nautilus, Perla (Pearl) and Píseň pro Joriku (Song for Jorika). The 2-CD set is adorned with the original sleeve, designed by Pavel Jasanský. The second disc also contains all twenty-six sets of lyrics (you can open and print them on your PC). In addition to the original text, the booklet offers a photo gallery of all the participating artists.

Kalemegdan Disk Additions

From the mid-Seventies to the late Eighties Vaclav Neckař played mainly progressive Rock.
Příběhy, písně a balady was completely recorded in 1982, but released as three single LPs: 1 & 2 in 1982 and 3 in 1983.

They contain partly electric and partly acoustic progressive Rock, mostly quiet and dreamy, 3 – the best one – partly even with some magic touch.
