Picked this up after an employee at Vacation Vinyl in Silverlake highly recommended it. It was describe as shoegaze and that's exactly the vibe this tape has. "Perfect Eyes" reminds me of A Place to Bury Strangers so fans of that band take note of this release. "Malware" opens with techno style beat and goes immediately for the throat with an assault of guitars, feedback, reverb style vocals reminding me once again of A Place to Bury Strangers meets Jesus and the Mary Chain. It's nice to hear shoegaze coming back with the reunion of bands like Lush, Ride, and Primal Scream and the recent announcement of a brand new Jesus and the Mary Chain album on the way in January of 2017. Cassette closes out with the strong driving number "Hold". It also comes with download card so you can safely listen to this without fearing of your cassette getting worn out, chewed up, or erased accidentally. Looking forward to hearing more from Voight!
