My pressing was mostly okay with the exception of Blade Runner (End Titles) which was totally unlistenable. The sounds levels are jumping all over the place.

It is a picture disc pressing so people,do not expect any great sound!
Matrix is pressed on a thin foil and glued to plastic. No hi-fi here.
Picture discs are only a collectable and nothing more.
Buy a real record if you like a good sound.

Mine has background rumble on both sides, and side A distorts all the sub low end and highs. I was wondering if I just got a bad lemon but for what I'm reading in the comments seems like it's on all of them, I can deal with the background noise but the distortion is very distracting and really takes away from the details in music. It's a bummer.

This is a beautiful release with a not so good pressing, as expected from pictures discs, even though I found some good picture discs releases from time to time.
Start playing side A and I can hear surface noise (as expected) but as the music and dialogues starts I could forget the surface noise, just to be reminded of it from time to time, mostly between tracks.
Side B starts worst than side A, with a much louder surface noise, but, once again, I early start to forget it once I get involved in this timeless and out of this world music. During the two first tracks I can hear some clicks and plops, that usually really anoies me, but not this time. Side B continues is course, running very smoothly until I can spot again the surface noise, mostly in between tracks, but not as loud as in the begining of side B.
I tend to get really irritated and dispointed with clicks, plops and surface noise, but this time it didn't hapen that way, perahps because I was, somehow, expecting this or because I easilly get transported into the music... by the music... Out of this world... into the Futurist World of Tomorrow happening today.
(of course I would love a cleaner sound pressing, but I have the 2015's 180g black vinyl edition if I want to hear a not noisy pressing...)

The quality is poor, but I'm a huge fan of the movie and it would be a great framed record.

Unfortunately I have a bad pressing. The groove on side B is off-centre, which makes the pitch of the music constantly but slightly go up and down. Totally unlistenable. I have to return it to the shop and I don't think there will be any replacements available as this was a limited run. Very sad about this, because side A doesn't have this issue and sounds absolutely wonderful, even though it has that background rumble at the start of the side that is common with picture discs. As an other commenter already said, this background noise isn't noticeable when the music is playing. I like the warm low-end of this pressing and the shiny high-end frequencies.

Final question: does anybody else have the issue with side B that I mentioned above? I can't imagine I am the only one.

Aren't picture discs renowned for being of terrible sound quality? I thought they were a no-go for a serious sound connoisseurs? I've always thought of them as novelty items

My disc purchased in Chicago IL sounds like it was mastered off of a used LP complete with pops and hisses. I'm a semi-pro DJ and use quality cartridges and pro turntables so it's not like I stuck this on a vintage 60s record player with the original needle and bore extra grooves in the vinyl. Nonetheless, I'm happy to finally have the Vangelis version without paying the filthy, outrageously ridiculous prices of the numbered red vinyl editions.
