The Second Dance compilation I ever bought the first being Bio Rhythms “Dane Music With Beeps” and like the first I wasn’t disappointed with what is now a classic collection of great tunes. With the record kicking off with the bass driven Rhythmatic “Frequency”, a classic beep & bass tune with a Detroit feel, next up we have the slightly darker and more trippy sounding Fade II Back “The Calling” with it deep chords and spaced out sounding strings / stabs. Then we have Energize “Report To The Dance Floor”, funky break beats, and a rumbling bass, vocals and simple organ riff make this another great track, and finally on the A side is Heychild’s Theme “Heychild” with its tight drum and percussion programing, bleep riff, strings and Derrick May vibe, seems to have only been release as part of Bio Rhythms. Over to the B side which starts with the masterpiece of Model 500 “Info World”, rolling bass, bleep sounds, pads, various riffs all blended to create this great tune which kind of has a chilled vibe, a real classic. Next up is Nexus 21’s “Together”, fast percussive loops, deeps bass, strings make this another Detroit sounding classic. Xon “Dissonance” and finally Constant Ritual “Hard Way To Come” both great tunes but probably not as stand out as the others. I think for me the first Bio Rhythms has the edge but this is a great follow up. The CD version has 4 additional tracks so also worth checking out. A true classic compilation full of great tracks.

Fantastic compilation album featuring some innovative bleepy techno from various artists on the Network label.
The cassette version of this release included extra tracks by Rhythim is Rhythim, C&M Connection and possibly others.

This really is a must buy for any afficionado of the bleep.
