I've recently been looking into Garage House as it was an important of House history and very detatched from the Chicago sound that has received most of the attention by historians. Well this collection is probably the single best collection of garage house tunes and the best place to start. When they tell you its soul and gospel sourced its really not an understatement as it literally bleeds that out of the music. A fantastic collection without any weak spots.

Some super smooth compiled garage on here. There's a great selection of tracks (MAW, Michael Proctor, Mass Order, Kim English etc) and unlike alot of other compilations there are no fillers whatsoever.

Perhaps the standout track for me is Wall of Sound which still sounds incredible to this day and is probably Mood II Swing's best production. In addition, the Joey Negro mix of Reece Project is a forgotten classic so kudos to Bobby & Steve for putting this on the comp.

Consequently, I have no hesitation recommending this compilation. It is simply the perfect cd for someone who is just getting into the soulful sounds of garage house.
