Excellent ep of varying styles that keeps the listener interested throughout. Lowfreq77 starts off with a blistering 303 workout, punishing kicks accompanied by a morphing bassline that makes one want to head straight for the dancefloor. SOUR cuts the tempo, but not the intensity as a reverberated 303 accompanies a moody and melancholy synthline. Mr. Figus closes the A side with a sparse acid track, contemplative and 808 heavy. Turn over and you are greeted with, what for my money, is a true and absolute monster mindfuck of a track, The Polygirl's "Nowhere Now Here." This is what I want to hear when I put a record on, the layering, the experimentalism, and the balance between multiple basslines, top notch. Labarome T.M.I. sends the listener out into the night, searching for a long lost rave scene...or maybe wanting to create one of his own.
