Classic and timeless early FSOL that is a must have for every FSOL fan. It might of sounded dated a few years back, but like everything, what's old is new again.

Right around the time that Accelerator was released, FSOL unleashed this compilation of singles. Many people are not too aware of this album, and to my knowledge it has not received a repress. I feel that this is an essential piece of understanding FSOL's pre-Lifeforms era, and forms a nice trilogy if taken in consideration with Tales from Ephindrina and Accelerator. This certainly is more of a period piece than the other two albums I mentioned, as the songs follow all of the conventions of the Techno/Dance scene of the late 80ties- early 90ties: Rave synth stabs, crowd noise, diva and soul music vocal samples, and even the obligatory techno-rap. However, even so long ago, there is ample evidence that their sampler (or "Yage", if you like) was alive and kicking, peppering all of the tracks contained here with various flourishes of trademark FSOL atmosphere, foreshadowing the potential that was to come.

Certainly I think this is a "fans only" kind of record, mainly due to how anchored it is in the time period that it was released, but that said, if you are a devoted fan of FSOL, this is a great album that shows that even from the very beginning, FSOL was pushing limits and exploring what would later become a revered and trademark "sound".
