Probably the best introduction to the world of Bhangra music I've ever found. As a white person, my first exposure to any Bhangra was when Apache Indian crossed over into the charts in 1993, but that does not do justice to the sheer energy and creativity that the genre offers.

Nowadays, contemporary Bhangra is widely heard and covered by stations such as Asian Network, and with the occasional commercial hit such as Punjabi MC's "Mundian To Bach Ke" hitting the national charts, but back then, unless you were of Asian descent, you'd perhaps never get exposed to hearing it.

This compilation shows how classic Asian music has met genres such as House, Hip Hop and Reggae, to create a rich multicultural fusion.
