"Imagine yourself returning from a peacefull journey through the magical world of the deep forest. With its purifying elements it helped you to recapture your inner balance. Take this divine feeling of satisfaction and place it into a world of dwindling subtropical wilderness. A world wherein the swollen trunks of cypress trees rise from crystalline waters as a symbol of vitality, preservance and trustworthiness. While being embraced by a soft quilt of moisture and warmth, now these principles of nature form a mystical source of energy which provides the power to continue the search for a new forbidden paradise..."

Much better than I expected it to be.

For some reason when I saw the album art(not like it was more "stellar" than
the other album art in the series or anything), I got a feeling this would've been
a low point in the series.

I was pleasantly surprised.

It's not just good. It's QUITE good and boasts one of my favorite tracks in the
entire compilation series. ("The Future" by Timekeeper)

Moonstruck's Lunar Outbreak is a totally great track, and the one that made me discover this collection.

Having embarked on the journey to listen to each of the Guardian Angel Forbidden Paradise releases in chronological order, I believe my frame of reference for reviewing this release to be of sound mind.

I was a bit skeptical at first, as this was the first Guardian Angel Forbidden Paradise in the series not to have been mixed by DJ Tiësto, but it would seem that All States Music has stepped up to the task. Everything from the track composition, to the mixing is 100% true to the Forbidden Paradise series. I would argue that this compilation not only achieves to preserve the atmosphere of the series, but simultaneously introduces elements of its own. This is something that, while to some degree can be said of the DJ Tiësto installments, is not wholly achieved by any of the previous releases. When I think Forbidden Paradise, I tend to think of a dark, mysterious atmosphere. A harsh reality shrouded by the unknown, yet simultaneously calm and serene, as nature is majestic - and no matter the danger one can't help but admire the scenery and existence of all that surrounds them. I find this atmosphere to be distinctly present in each of the Guardian Angel releases of Forbidden Paradise up to this release.

I feel as if this release not only encapsulates all that is present in the others, but introduces a warmer, more positive outlook on the nature of things. The mystery is still there. The darkness can still be felt. The nature of the future us still unknown, yet while one finds themselves immersed within this "Mystic Swamp," the fog and mist are of a brighter hue. The listener is at peace.

Sadly, this is also the last installment in the series that I find to remain 100% true to this atmosphere. The subsequent 4 releases are merely shells of the once magnificent series.

This is my outlook on the compilation, I find the difference between this release and the others difficult to put into words, but I did my best.

Two favorites on here are Jones & Stephenson - Gummiringe and 6 Traxx - Benegeserit.
