Lord this record looks ugly, and "Digitally Mastered" it may be, but the too-quiet pressing spoils a notable compilation -- notable because it features first tracks by several acts now legendary in UK hip-hop -- first Demon Boyz track, first Hijack track (I think it's the first), first She Rockers, MC Duke, Einstein... are we getting the picture?

Such a shame a few of the dodgy additions (BVSMP!?) were included as it really spoils the volume of the pressing. Also some of the worst artwork and design you'll see on a record, but some great notes -- "Rap Music, which one teacher on TV's Grange Hill tried to describe to another as 'a kind of improvised poetry over a rhythmic backing track'...".

I don't see this record about much, but it's the only way I know of to get a hold of these early UK classics on the cheap.
