A distant summer, makes me homesick, anybody into this kind of sound, this is about as good as it gets. It is not about nostalgia, these tunes still sound like they were made in the future.

Track 1 (Adam F - Light Years) is pitched down slightly with about 1:40 cut off the end. Compared to the A side on Adam F - Stronger Than Ever 12" (Lucky Spin Recordings ‎– ADM-04).

Nice Breakbeat/Jungle compilation presenting some of the best tracks of late '93/ early '94 era at the end of darkside period (still not Jungle unlikely the title ''Jungle Dub'' says, but more into Drum & Bass with a bit of Hardcore) in the transition between the dark Breakbeat of 93 and Jungle '94, just before ragga took the scene.
''Skanna - This Way'', ''Flat 47 - No Man's Land'' , ''Bizzy B & Equinox - The Brain Crew V.I.P.'' are top tunes but the rest are perfect as well, all of them.
My favorite of Hard Leaders series.

Another Awesome compilation from kickin records following on from Hard Leaders 4 was not going to be an easy task. This may have been complied by Easiman who compiled the previous Hardleaders compilations from Raves second inception 1992. This release ozzes quality with lush atmospheric's and a Twist of the Darkside. It seems to strike a lovely balance between the two. Think LTJ Bukem or Omni Trio combined with 4 Hero or Metalheadz.

I cant think of any other compilation that's on par with this and I have hundreds. I would not even call this jungle because that adds insult to it. Its more break beat orientated without any cheesy jungle samples or beats for that matter. This music was so short lived hence I have nothing in my collection to compare it with although some of the tracks from Drum and Bass Selection 1 would sound similar. There still lagging behind in my opinion. Adam F kicks this release off with Light Years and it really is light years away in terms of music production. The whole compilation is superior even to this day. Enjoy !!

Great album a true taste of jungle, or what it was really like back in the days of dreamscape or dance planet. A must buy for the true dark soldiers :)

I absolutely love this record, and I'm on the lookout for more albums in the Jungle Dub series (I have 5 & 6). I don't agree that this is dark, I would describe it as energetic rudeboy gone electronic with moments of relentlessness - just to test your limits :) - drums. It's very uplifting to me and I really appreciate the song and the rooty feeling in it all, which is seldom heard on contemporary records in this genre (or did I just miss those albums, please let me know!)

Dark melty acid rave sounds with basic decent breakbeats, a very high standard, think trip to the moon crossed with the helicopter tune, definitely 93.
