A compilation package from tiny Rational Records of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Package includes a seven track, various artist cassette, a 'magazine' that includes transcripts of an interview with Jim Morrison of the Doors and a piece written by Mark E. Smith of the Fall, a poster for a gig and a ticket for a gig. Also included is a 7" single by the Delmontes. This had previously been released in it's own right by Rational Records as Rate 3, but appears in this package with a remixed A side and different sleeve. Matrix numbers for the version included here are:

AA side matrix and runout reads: RATE 3 AA (MPO has been crossed out)
A side matrix and runout reads: RATE 3A2

The magazine in this package also includes notes on each of the featured bands as follows:

A la rechercher du temps perdu: with characteristic emotional confusion, Josef K bring you "Romance" (from their first single), "Head's Watch (from the same session, previously unreleased) and "variation Of Scene", until now lying gathering dust amongst the tapes of a forgotten LP. In the blur of memory they walk from reality into myth.....

With athleticism and animal energy The Associates rejoice with "Dogs In The Wild". The emotional burlesque comes to town.....

Mysterieusement: Bebe Blanche se trouve toute seule sans aucun affaires du coeur.

To the west, between Ana Hausen and the Eiffel Towers, lies The Distance. Here, with delicacy and icy precision, they present "A Threat".

Article 58, often unsure and nervous, but frequently containing the excitement and exuberance of youth, leaving a minor classic in the Alan Horne/ Malcolm Ross produced "Event To Come" they give us their swansong "Reflections".

The Delmontes inhabit the ambiguous world of Happy sad. Things are not always what they appear. Don't Cry Your Tears" and "So it's Not To Be" (now remixed) have been heard before .......but we all need reassurance, don't we?
