Gorgeous cover art. With that written Disc 1 is pretty bad. Lots of cheap sounding thumping hardcore. Tanochinjaii - Fallen Angel is the only track I consider really good. 'Doom Dancer' starts good with the snare rolls but ends up introducing crappy treble.

Disc 2 is the one to own the release for.

Cold Rush Records was a sub-label of the famous Plant Core Productions (PCP). Unfortunately PCP has been discontinued since 1997. After this Acardipane Records (which currently doens't exist anymore) was started. Probably to make some money this compilation was made, which features older material from 1993 till 1997. Although I was very happy to be able to buy all those releases that I like on one album in full length and effect.

All productions on Cold Rush are done by Marc Acardipane except for the 8th release, produced by Miro. The cd includes all the productions on the label except the remixes of 'Stereo Murder', LOST6R. The releaeses on this label have an exceptionel sound. The tracks are slow and very dark. Most of the tracks are below 160 BPM. So I don't think you could call it hardcore techno but hard techno would be better genre. A fact is that a lot the tracks on this cd have been hits in the gabber scene but never really have been excepted into the mainstream techno scene.

I think this album was a nice chance for the PCP fans to have all those hits on one album. Still it is very nice hearing these tracks, like they're timeless. It is painfull to hear Marc Acardipane nowadays. Skip Marc's recent work and instead just put this on.
