Original Words and Music by the Children of Western Region Schools
A “Search for a Song" project was launched by the Department of Education, Western Region, early in 1979. All students and pupils in Western Region Schools were invited to compose and score their own compositions. Over one—hundred—and—thirty songs were submitted. Of these, eleven were chosen by a panel of selectors: Laurie Orchard and Ron Johnson of the Mitchell College of Advanced Education at Bathurst, and John Murphy of Radio Station 2GZ at Orange. These songs were recorded by the children who composed them.
