Hearing these comments - this is the big problem with vinyl OST's now - they're just not pressed or mastered like they used to (that goes for represses to - heard the recent reissue of Hellraiser II? - it's all over the place - lousy mastering). The biggest difficulty is that the companies behind so many soundtracks nowadays are more concerned with the aesthetic look and design of the record - not the audio (it all seems to be about the artwork nowadays) - and don't get me on coloured vinyl - you heard The Thing Ice coloured vinyl - that sounded simply the pits. No - CDs are the way to go generally now with the film soundtrack...

Hey,
so I just received my copy and encountered a similar issue with lots of noise and crackling. Figured that lifting the tonearm and putting it back down (maybe even a few couple of times) helps it cause the issue seems to be that it's much harder on this record for the stylus to get correctly into the groove. Once that's achieved the record plays flawlessly. Super weird and very inconvenient though.

I sent back my copy because of terrible noise at B1. For 46 sec. the noise was like from 90-year-old, damaged shellac and then, suddenly, click, music plays twice louder (as it should) without any noise. Very similar situation with A1 but in much smaller scale.

⚠︎update ☞ Asked guys in the shop to check new record before sending and it turned out that all LPs had the same problem (most probably stamper flaw), so they sent all of them back to the supplier.
How about your copies, fellows ?

⚠︎⚠︎update ☞ Got another copy from another shop and it's much better. No annoying noise at the beginning but it plays with some clicks, definitely needs washing and new, better inner cover.

Pretty disappointed with this pressing. It seems over-EQ'd towards the highs: very bright but not much bass to speak of, with the mids being a little on the brassy side as a result. Also a lot of surface noise and clicking, even after a good cleaning. A shame, because this was obviously a real labor or love for Edward Norton. Warner seriously needs to up their QC.
