This was arguably the best compilation to ever come out of the NY hardcore scene (although the Revelation Records "Way It Is" compilation is definitely a close second.) It's a good mix of some more well known acts (Gorilla Biscuits/Raw Deal) with some much more obscure, but high quality acts (Life's Blood/Uppercut) and the whole thing just has a raw, dark vibe that runs through the whole thing.

On a slightly personal note, after being able to revisit some of this music (thanks to YouTube) that I had not heard for well over a quarter decade it made me remember why I was so angry as a younger person! I mean, this music is dark, hard, and ANGRY. It only slightly lightens up towards the end with the (excellent) Gorilla Biscuits cover of the Buzzcocks' "Sitting Round At Home" but the rest of it is downright apocalyptic. Overall, if I only had one hardcore record to take on a deserted island somehwere this would definitely be it, and can't believe this is almost 30 years old now.

I have a version that is numbered 60 of 500 and it is a picture disc with same pictures as the cover pic.

First pressing came with a printed inner sleeve with band photo collage & artwork by Lamont Weston Harvey. Second pressing had 300 copies on transparent red vinyl - NOT 500 as is stated above. I still have the note that came with my red vinyl mail order copy, saying 300 of them were made. Most of the first pressing were on black vinyl, so I find it hard to believe that 2000 colored vinyl were part of that pressing.
