Top quality compilation of transworld exotica that gives you an insight into some far-flung musical scenes.
The accent is on South America (Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Brazil) but there's also tracks from India and Turkey. Not sure what the connection is exactly but the choices are uniformly excellent... great listening.

India's Atomic Forest score with their heavy riffing brand of 70s hard rock... perhaps a surprise for those expecting a sitar-driven sound.
The mysterious Brazilian Flavio Kurt brings us his sole 45 Walderez Waldereia. A real catchy and funky latin trip.
And as for Sonora Casino's freakout track Astronautas a Mercurio .... words (nearly) fail me. What a carve up.
Turkish Saz specialist Arif Sag plus his instrument into a fuzzbox to deliver a supremely vicious, nasty (in a good way), ultra-distorto sound.

That's a few of my favourites anyway. Good sleeve notes and pics abound on the gatefold sleeve.
There was a limited edition vinyl version with a screen-printed sleeve ... tasty.
