I must say that this is one of the best hardcore compilations around. Sure, great number of obvious choices, but still, full length versions from great labels such as Production House, R & S, and Reinforced. Especially the two stone cold classics from Acen really make this a bit special for me. Previously I was utterly convinced that 'Trip To The Moon' was the best hardcore classic but 'Close Your Eyes' has grown on me and I reckon I would rate it as the ultimate classic of UK hardcore. Anyways, a great number of the tunes are just great and simply must-haves. You can get this with a fiver easily, so whatever reasons you might have not having this they are all just excuses.

A great budget priced comp of what has to be a pretty much surefire collection of great moments in rave history.

Both CDs are chock full of classics not just the first track on each disc and then filled of 13 non-descript tracks you've never heard of.

Highlights for me include: Soundclash, Energy Flash, Mentasm, Exorcist, Vamp etc etc

Both discs flow really well and being unmixed are perfect for reminiscing back to the good old days. As far as I can hear not many of the tracks have been edited even though there are 14 tracks on each disc.

I bought two others of the series and was dissapointed, as they were mixed or edited versions to keep them at radio length. And when I got this i was like 'Meh'...
But, I was surprised! Full Versions! Love that. Sure, it's another of those countless revival CD's which try to cash in a tons of money (?), but if you search for a few breakbeat gems you won't be dissapointed! It should say breakbeat/protojungle session as most of the tracks are blueprint tracks for Jungle/Drum & Bass. You've got 'Engery Flash', 'Mentasm' and 'The Vamp' as the source material. And stuff like Acen's 'Optikonfusion' (without the well known sample) and Part 1 of the 'Trip II the Moon' saga as those tunes that brought high speed breakbeats into fashion. Some Reinforced and Shut Up and Dance and some more housey tunes. A great package that keeps you smiling for two hours!

If you still can't get enough of some oldskool fix you should get it, as it is pretty cheap and I'm sure you can get it at every bigger shop in town. If you are new to DnB or just a youngster you should get this too, as it is a great chance to learn a bit about the roots of jungle and DnB.
