This whole EP is top quality stuff, but 'Badman Style' is just on another level... insane to think Marlon made this at 17 years old or so, and on an old Amiga no less. Sonically it's pretty militant, mostly thick 808 bass hits and mangled amens, but if you like that kind of thing, you can't go wrong with this one!

Nebula's Jazz Retro uses the same theme as JMJ & Richie's Universal Horn (apparently sampled from The Guo Brothers & Shung Tian - One Flower)

4 tracks of Scientific Wax on one yellow clear disc, this already has my attention and this Ep does not disappoint one bit.

Tim Reaper - drops some seriously heavy beats with 'PSI' remixed by Dwarde. On headphones, this sounds like Pinball Sub Bass, in my minds eye I imagine being bounced around a dance floor at super fast speeds. The bass is sublime on this track, the breaks are crisp are snappy, the bleeps, vocals and pads are amazing. The sound really is vintage/retro indeed, reminiscent of early System X/The Sentinel.

Next, Equinox takes things to edges of its Jungle boundaries with this stark, mechanical utter rinse out of a track. Its not called 'Badman Style' for nothing. The drum edits are brutal, psychedelic and mesmerising as you are battered from all angles. Filters sweep in and out, bass notes tumble down deep and there are more time stretches than in 'Back To The Future'.

This is a no holds barred dark side nightmare your mum would hate.

Nebula is one of those artists I hold in high esteem, with so many great tracks released on this label alone, he unleashes another exceptional example of how to make future sounding drum & bass. The Amens are sliced to perfection, alongside thundering bass notes. The scifi esque vibe is tight, topped with a slice of ultra cool pads, 'Jazz Retro' is my favourite on the EP.

Dwarde blesses this wax with his track 'Antacid' which rolls out nice and smooth almost like PFM on Good Looking, before the switch up, which is a rugged and rough. The beats skip along beautifully, again reminiscent of System X/The Sentinel, its a pure oldskool sounding banger of high quality.

This is one of the strongest releases from the Sci Wax camp in my opinion, pure fire from start to finish.
