Pantene Pro-Voice was established to recognize, celebrate and reward young women who use music as a means of self-expression, individuality and empowerment. In January of 2001, Pantene Pro-Voice accepted thousands of songs from female singer/songwriters nationwide and selected five finalists to compete for the honor of "New Voice of 2001." The culmination was a star-studded Central Park concert in July in which the five finalists competed in front of thousands in attendance, including rising Pop/R&B arist Willa Ford and multi-platinum arist Jewel. Libbie Schrader, accompanied by her band Think of England, was named the Pantene Pro-Voice "New Voice of 2001."
