Notes

A compilation of Canadian modern and contemporary compositions and performances of classical repertoire, drawn from the catalog of "CBC Radio Canada Transcription" releases (and re-issues) circa 1966-1982, including studio recordings and live performances.

The cover design presents five other front- or back-cover designs previously- or concurrently-used to distribute these recordings. The central design was in use from no earlier than 1966 to 1974. The upper and lower designs both use the CBC "Gem" logo introduced in 1974, which was superseded by a "Blue Gem" version in 1985, and a simplified "Red Gem" logo in 1992.

This suggests that the releases from which these selections have been drawn also correspond to this time frame (1966-1985). CBC RCI releases prior to 1966 were intended for internal distribution rather than commercial sales. Some of those recordings may have been reissued in new packaging after 1966.

At this time the Discogs catalog includes enough of these CBC RCI releases (under many label identity variants) that most of these tracks should be traceable back to their original release.

The catalog enumeration "01-82" suggests that this was the first of many intended compilation reissues, and was released as such in 1982.
