This volume was really were we started to experience the explosion of the new generation of Trance (that would thrive until the mid-'00s). Most people called it "Uplifting Trance" at the time, but now it's generally seen as the Golden Age Of Trance*.

Corsten's remix of Transcend kicks things off, and it's ideal. Every aspect of the '99 sound is here already, from the tough driving 140bpm rhythm to the massive breakdowns & epic buildups.

Then you've got the legendary Paul van Dyk remix of 1998, still unequalled in my eyes.

Other notable entries include the superb Olmec Heads with their debut "Lift Off", the tense & dramatic "Behind The Sun" by Scottish legends Transa and the outstanding Parks & Wilson remix of "The Bell Song".

*Of course, Trance's original Golden Age was around 1993-1995, but this style from '98-'03 was worldwide

My favorite in the series, for me it was the dawn of the trance explosion of the late 90s. The tracklist speaks for itself.
