Dirty Harry once said; "...opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one".
I think some can be rather harsh when reviewing an release especially when it relates to classic re-released material. I personally don't care if you've got all the original 12's, that has no relevence to the release at all! This compilation will be several things to many people, some good some bad. We also need to remember that this will have appeal to the youth of today, it's not just about satisfying the demands of those who were there back in the early 80's.
Packaging is great and remastered sound quality is pretty good considering there is so much poor quality re-mastered releases flooding the market today. If you are a completist then it's a no-brainer you will want this. Others will just have to choose whether they want to risk buying it based upon others negative opinions or whether they just do as I do,...blast the CD from my car remembering the friction burns on my back, elbows and knees from all that other type of spinning on vinyl lol

If you do still like Electro, the remastering is spot on and to me it's worth having these tracks again for this fact alone. Also, first class artwork that represents a sense of continuity with the rest of the series without leaning towards overblown contemporary flashy graphics. Forget the mix which is unfortunately lifeless in my opinion.

What else can I say... That an anticipated LP has been a let down and as further let insult to injury by compiling an LP which most of us have the original 12's in our collection. All I can say is that Morgan Khan is looking for his pension fund by getting guiliable fools to buy it. If you have any sense, why waste your money on something that was good back in the day. After all, if you're still collecting Electro then you've not grown up at all. Then you should go back to secondary school and goto the school disco where you can try your moves on the lino.

Electro was great, but there was a lot of obscure shit out there too which is still being bought....

Well well what can I say about this release. Back in tha day Street Sounds held a special place in my life, it brought me music from the cutting edge of Electro!! That was then and this is now. The track listing was essentially very safe. The mixing was well below average and could of been done by any bedroom DJ to a better standard. It was as if Kurtis Mantronik is out to bring Morgan Khsn down. How this ever came to being pressed is beyond me. So come on all you fly muthas take ogf the rose tinted glasses and out your ear to the windoe as you'll hear M.K. laffin at ya as your money fills his account!!! I cant mix. I could have done better bearing in mind how long the production took!!! TOTALLY PISS POOR!!!

As a big fan of Streetsounds back in the day I was eagerly looking forward to this release. Then came the massive delay and the release of the tracklist. There's nothing on this that wasnt released on the other Electro's, so a little disappointing. I can't say the remixes were of interest either, why ruin a classic. So the last hope for me was the mix. I can only assume Mantronik is that comfortable doing whatever he's up to these days not to care about this release. Its terrible. It has obvious mistakes and the use of digital manipulation is way over the top. Very disappointing.

Well I finally got round to dropping my vinyl copy last night and omg what a disappointment!! The original version's of the tracks that feature are great for being remastered etc but the remixes are that bad! My favorite Egyptian Lover tune has been ruined! I just took the needle of the record after a minute, awful remix! Then the Divine Sounds remix is just as bad what a complete hash of a job!, the dmx will rock was a slight improvement but no it's ruined also and finally surgery was the best of all of them but why why why even bother messing with these tracks as all of those remixes have been done by the same person it is obvious they love there serato which all of us vinyl junkies hate!! I wonder if the artists actually heard the remixes of their tracks as surely they would not have allowed these remixes to go ahead as the tracks have been hashed or was the licence money more important to them?? I know Morgan wanted to make this release a unique purchase to give us electro heads something to buy but I would of preferred the original cuts of the tracks instead of classics being tampered with by a serato head! This is a missed opportunity to grow this brand in my opinion. If your after a good electro example of how to do edits on classics just check out Greg Wilson's Electro Edits release for record store day 2013, Greg puts the above to shame by doing a fine job with 4 classic tracks.

when i first heard it i had to double take and recheck who mixed it as i thought it was a double mix offr between edward scissorhands and stevie wonder as it is fucking horrendous and im glad i dint pay for it as i would have wasted hard earned cash, i have all the trax on 12" anyway but i feel sorry for the fools who did pay for it as once again street scams has ripped loyal old skool fans off with their latest scam. i just hope in future these people take off their rose tinted goggles and see morgan for what he really is a khan artist.
artwork 0/10 already been flogged to death and music etc esp the mix 0/10

I think some of the reviews below are a bit mean spirited. Especially the comments on the choices of tracks, which (even though hardly rare) are still solid start to end... The guy with the longest review is well known for having a long-running spat with Street Sounds so make what you will of his whiny review....
