Notes

There are many serious diseases which affect children among which is Muscular Dystrophy, an incurable disease which mainly occurs in boys and forms one of the most perplexing problems in medicine.

A cure cannot be expected until the cause is found. This means expensive research.

There are insufficient funds available from the Government to support all branches of research in all branches of Medicine.

Telethon is a means whereby the public may contribute both to the Muscular Dystrophy Research Project of the University of W.A. and the Royal Perth Hospital, and to the Princess Margaret Hospital Research Foundation, which are dedicated to the solution of childhood diseases.

In the past, public support through Telethon has enabled scientists to be employed and laboratories equipped. Continuity and enlargement of this owrk is essential in order to achieve an understanding and eventual control of muscular dystrophy and other childhood diseases. By buying this record, you will materially assist in this worthwhile cause.
