Maybe this is nostalgia speaking, but this release is arguably one of my favourite DJ mix set ever. From the gorgeous tracklist to the perfect flow of energy in each mix, as well as the very wise use of samples, this is a fine DJ mix that's bound to bring a tear or two to any DJ who used to spin the wheels of steels during the glorious era of Eurodance (given they still like this genre of music, obviously).

It's difficult to review this album with strict objectivity as it is one of the albums that made me like the music genre that is now called "Eurodance" (it was called only "Dance" or "Euro" depending on the country). But comparing this release with the others in the series (namely, volume 2 and 3), this is the one that sticks out the most in terms of quality. You pop the CD in, and the energy never dies. Each transition is perfect, and the versions chosen are perfect. The only moments where you feel energy is lacking is during the transition between "I Won't Let You Down" and "Jump To The Pump" (though this is due to the transition being originally absent, as the switch from Side A to Side B would occur here on the cassette version of this release), and the use of a cover version of "Mr. Vain" instead of the original by Culture Beat would cause some people to turn their heads in disgust, but those are the only negative points I could bring up.

So in short, this is an excellent release to get if you're into Eurodance, are a beginner in the Eurodance world, or just plain don't have it yet in your collection. A fine piece of mixing like it should be done.
