this record is one of the first techno/house
records I ever bought in late '91 and I still
give it the occasional spin from time to time.
The two stand out tracks on this record are
Frank DeWulf's cut "Cinemascope" and a great
ambient house track called "Through The Clouds"
by Dominik Woosey.

As if Frank De Wulf and Richie Hawtin weren't enough, you get some John Acquaviva, Sven van Hees and J Vanderbergh, to name but a few, thrown in as well. This is way beyond being an essential tune. It is the type of record you keep on going back to over and over again as it has got so much quality and variety. They don't make them like this anymore. Can't ask for much more in a record.
The best way I can recommend this is to say that if I see it again I will buy more copies for myself as I am wearing out the first copy.

DJ Monneypenny, the head behind the legendary underground ambient-acid remix of Formicula 4's 'Formic Acid'-track named 'Formic - Trance (The Trancemistress Mix)' together with Vandenbergh and Sven Van Hees (Tech Noise, Astrospider) from Liasons D create a positive minded tribal-technohouse track with typical Belgium fingerprints.
Dominik Woosey contributes a calm down trance track which fits perfectly in the (for that era typical) high quality, making being satisfied, epic timeless tracks. At the first listening not shocking but after more and more listen to it it became sense: Ah, yes, I know it... Wasn't it played in that great...? And so on, memories of a time that is watched through childeyes, through the eyes of someone just getting into real life with all the great things to come in front of. Again this early 90s years with those special sounds tenthousands Youtube commentators wished to live in but were too young in that time...
Yes: It was so special. And yes, its over. But you can still listen to the sounds from the beginning of the 90s decade.
Beside Hawtins 'X X X' and the B3 track by this records producer DeWulf, is IMO the most stunning track for an acid addict like me the unbelievable pure and stompin acid track 'Mind Over Matter' by Damon Wild - who else has produced more perfect tracks in the fields of acid and acidtrance like him (Sulfurex - Flight 303/ Lazor Worshippers Theme/ Nightvision - Nuclear Sun/ Morph - Stormwatch/ Syquest - Lazerium a.s.o.)? Dropping boms, a nailing 303 line and the female voice sample: "I-I-I- I Love It!"
On B2 the bleep techno noisy track of John Aquaviva (Plus8/Probe) and Jason Steele better known from Deko! 12" 'Hyperbelle' on Probe Records. Flashy fazer sounds.
On B3 position comes the initiator by himself, the head of Mikki House, one part of the famous Liasons D, too, with 'Cinemascope', a pulsating drifty technotrance track with a deep-hearted pull forwards. That De Wulf knows how to create unique sounds we all know from his other breathtaking releases ('Dominator (Frank De Wulf Mix 1)', 'The B Sides'-series, 'Second Chance - Hard Up' and all the other great tracks...)
This release is an important part of techno history because in all genres appearing on here are given high quality tracks here. There is also a rare cd-relase outthere with more (trancey) tracks on it but more suitable for homelistening. Missing Links Volume 1. Also a hot release with rare high quality tunes. Those releases make you smile :)
