Notes

There's a few mistakes on the track listing:
- 1.01 is listed as "Afrika Bambaataa" when it's really "Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force"
- 1.11 is listed as "DJ Scott La Rock & KRS-One" when it's really "Boogie Down Productions"
- 2.03 is listed as "Grandmaster Flash" when it's really "Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel"
- 2.19 is listed as "Jam On It" when it's really "Jam On Revenge"
- 2.21 is listed as "Warp 21" when it's really "Warp 9"
- 2.23 is listed as "Jonzun Crew - Pack Jam" when it's really "The Packman - I'm The Packman" even though the Packman track is already on CD 1

There was so much coming out back then and US imports were kinda expensive , we had to top up our DJ collections with the compilations, our budgets wouldnt have reached otherwise, I kept all mine and its great to still play them at gigs sometimes.

Dope Dope Dope!
If you regret chucking away all your Street Sounds Electro LPs or tapes from the 80s. or just want to have a little revival, then just hunt down this budget compilation.
The mixes, cuts and transitions are great , the track selection cannot be faulted -even the cheesy tracks (no stoppin' us, Axel F, stuff like that) sound wicked, Cannot recommend it highly enough for a trip down memory lane or even as an introduction for the uninitiated to what was a very vibrant scene.

Its hard to overestimate the impact of the Electro compilation LPs upon their first release in the UK. The LPs spawned several tours from US Hip Hop artists and paved the way for mixed albums of later years. This compilation takes the best of the best and mixes them into a "hands in the air" old skool fiesta. Highly recommended.
