I'm fairly sure I bought this version in The Netherlands from an ordinary retail store (Free Record Shop) back in the day. I always wondered why it wasn't called "Thunderdome III" on the front cover and was in a slim case instead of the usual double jewel case like the other Thunderdome albums. I was also disappointed it didn't have the free tattoo from the tv advertisement. :-(

Strange that they sold this Italian import version over here. I no longer have the album, so unfortunately cannot verify, but I remember the pink SIAE logo on the back cover [didn't know what it was back then], so it must've been this version.

What? Thunderdome III is one of the best oldschool Thunderdome CD's ever made.. But What I would like to notice is this: It must be MR. Dobalina instead of Dabolina. That is definitely written wrong at the Thunderdome cover. :) (SmilE)

Some of the worst electronic music ever is featured on this 2disc set and the rest of these series. The entire series is proof that not all music that came out in the 90s is supposed to be good as some people like to claim. There is no difference between this terrible music and the shit that comes out nowadays. Every era has its moment of shame. Hardcore, Gabber or whatever they call this crap is one of those moments of the 90s era.

In my opinion this is one of the best "Thunderdome" compilations.
It contains some all-time classics like Moby's "Thousand", Dream Your Dream's "Soushkin", Ilsa gold's "Up", Ramirez' "El Gallinero" or Hooligan's "Bottrop". These tracks are basic tracks in the collection of every techno-fan. Furthermore this CD features other very good tracks, like "Speedy Gonzalez", "Mutha Fucka House", "External", "Fuckin Hostile" or "Here's Johnny". Of course the whole "Thunderdome"-series is a must-have for all Gabbaheads and Hardcore-fans - but I can also recommend this one to the mainstream techno listener.
Cheap nowadays - so buy it!

I'll tell you a little story about this record. I heard of it in 2004, when a person in the forum of my site told me he had a Thunderdome LP with the Dog. I did not believe at first, but after another sighting of a similar talk, I got the impression this could be true. Only after the first copy ever showed up on ebay I got really convinced. There was no picture, so I asked the guy to send it to me. Proof: it does exist and it's a Spanish edition! I put the picture in my site, which was the first site ever to show this record. The auction was weird, apparently the seller wanted to sell each of the 2 LP separatly (duh!!). I did not bid because of that. The whole record was sold to the person who put this record on discogs afterwards. Meanwhile, I could get my hands on one copy of this amazing 2LP.
The music is "almost" the same as in Thunderdome III 2CD, except for the bonus tracks, specially Thousand from Moby which I miss so much here. Riot Squad, Lenny Dee, Tumor, Zekt, you name it... this is a record filled with classics from other records hard to find. A real treat!
Anyway, the music is indeed very good, and despite the mediocre cover (also a classic by the way!) it manages to give this album a special feeling... both very hard industrial hardcore and almost mellow hardcore co-exist, just like they did in these oldskool days.
A great record!
