Fantastic end of 90s ambent/IDM compilation from the UK. I was unfamiliar with all the artists when I purchased this 10+ years ago however due to the caliber of the music on the sampler I feel I need to comment this compilation is as good as any of the classic Em:t labels comps. The music here is sometimes dubby, airy and always moving without the d&b spectacle or hardcore techno. From the opening rubbery dub laden down-tempo track of Sandspider to the end of disc Koichi there is nothing but consistency here and a reason I still own it!

Released around September 1999, this collection of bizarre chilled out tracks was Worm Interface's answer to the increasing popularity of "chill out" as a genre, and all the "chill out" compilations that went with it.

This album features very early material from Sandspider taken from the original Camden sessions in January 1999, the tracks are more basic in terms of production, but the ambient dub factor is still apparent.

Other notable tracks are from Remote who produces seriously atmospheric ambience that borders between ambient and isolationism, in a similar way to aphex twin's "ambient works".

Also, check out the ambient offerings from Airat, minimalist again, and subconsciously very catchy.
